Training as a childcare specialist EFZ
Small children - big responsibility!
The apprenticeship to become a childcare specialist (FaBe) takes three years. Apprentices who have reached the age of 22 and already have two years of professional experience in this field can shorten the apprenticeship to two years. The same applies to people who have already completed an EFZ apprenticeship in another profession. If you perform very well at school, you can complete a vocational baccalaureate during or after the apprenticeship.

Training in childhood education HF
Childcare is seen as a supplement to the family or school environment.
Childhood educators look after, educate and bring up children in childcare facilities that complement family and school care. They shape the educational work as a continuity between family and institution and work in partnership with parents and legal representatives.
Among other things, they further develop the institution's educational concepts on the basis of evidence, observation, analysis and knowledge or carry out projects in the institution.
The Childhood Education HF belongs to tertiary level B and can be completed in three or four years, depending on previous education. A completed education at secondary level 2 (vocational apprenticeship or secondary school) is required.

Training in social pedagogy HF / FH
Open up prospects for children and young people.
For adults with a recognized professional qualification, training as a social pedagogue HF takes 3 to 4 years.
Professionals from the social sector with a recognized qualification as a care specialist EFZ can complete the training in 2-3 years.
For adults with a baccalaureate degree, the training to become a social pedagogue FH lasts 3 years (full-time training) or 4 years (practical training). The individual schools provide information about details and admission criteria for people with other previous education.
Higher technical college (degree in social pedagogy HF):

Activities at familea in social pedagogy:
familea runs a children's home, three decentralized residential groups and a transit home. You support and care for schoolchildren and young people from difficult social backgrounds using the caregiver principle.
You work closely with the specialists involved (school, therapy, etc.). You hold regular discussions with family members, the referring authorities and the legal representatives accompanying the case.
In individual and group discussions, you will reflect on development processes, agree on goals and discuss conflicts. You will write reports and take on administrative tasks.

Vocational training for adults EFZ
Vocational training for adults in accordance with Art. 32 BBV at familea offers you a further path to a vocational qualification with a Federal Certificate of Competence.
With several years of professional experience, you can catch up on your qualification as a childcare specialist by taking the same exam as apprentices with an apprenticeship contract with appropriate preparation.
