The familea Frauenberatung offers social and legal counseling for women in difficult life situations. The counselors pursue a holistic counseling concept, which is aimed at women residing in the canton of Basel-Stadt and supports women seeking advice in developing new perspectives.
Women in focus
The counseling service is aimed at women aged 18-65 who live in the canton of Basel-Stadt.
In women's counseling, everyone who identifies as a woman and wants to be perceived as a woman by others is considered a woman.
This includes trans women whose gender identity does not match the gender they were assigned at birth. With this definition, we explicitly include trans people as well as intersex and cisgender women.
Consulting offer
Our counseling is one or more times, depending on your needs and wishes. It is subject to the obligation of secrecy. If it helps to solve your problem, we also contact authorities, administrations, health insurance companies, etc. after consultation and with your consent. We are also happy to arrange for further help.

Our reception will arrange an initial free, brief telephone consultation, during which your concerns will be recorded and you will be given a personal appointment according to your need for advice.
If you are unable to attend, please give at least half a day's notice.

Translators will only be organized for you in exceptional cases - but you are welcome to take someone with you.

Fees
The women's counseling service receives significant support from the Canton of Basel-Stadt. As the subsidies do not cover the costs, a contribution towards the costs of social and legal counseling is required within your financial means. Nevertheless, our services are intended to be low-threshold, which is why the amount can be reduced in justified cases. Any consultation fee will be determined during the initial consultation with the counselor. This will be accepted in cash against receipt.
For consultations longer than 30 minutes, the full hourly rate will be charged. For consultations of up to 30 minutes, half the hourly rate will be charged.

Women's advice clients can complete their tax return with the help of their advisor. Please contact us and make an appointment with your advisor.
