On February 14, 1901, Lily Zellweger-Steiger laid the foundation stone for familea. Over more than a century, her initiative developed into a social organization that accompanies, strengthens and supports children, women and families in Basel and the region.

To mark International Children's Rights Day, children at our familea locations are designing over 50 creative chairs on their most important rights.

The Oberwilerstrasse residential group has redesigned its exterior wall together with ARTWITHUS. The result is a colorful graffiti that makes creativity, community and joie de vivre visible - for the young people and the entire neighborhood.

Discover art, play, be creative: With Art Kids, familea is designing the children's program at Art Basel for the first time - a lovingly supervised adventure space for children aged 4 to 12 with a creative studio, bouncy castle, play area and retreat. While adults enjoy art, young guests experience a great program.

During the carnival week, the three residential groups of the children's and youth homes experienced an unforgettable ski camp week in Grächen.

Under the motto "Dubai Schoggi und KI - muess das si?", the Lindenbäärg Waggis mingled happily with the carnival revellers.

On February 11, the children from the Im Vogelsang transit home were invited to the Fossil office on Riehenring.

From November 1, 2024, we warmly welcome the former Familycare daycare centers to familea. Together, we are strengthening childcare and supporting families in Basel.

The Lindenberg Festival on September 7 was a complete success with bright sunshine and numerous activities for children.
