familea open studio

A busy place for our little artists

The familea open studio has already been open for four years to children and young people and their companions from familea internal institutions - a lively place where many artistic works have already been created.

The offer serves to be able to develop in the artistic doing and to learn from each other. The motivation that arises during artistic activities and the resulting concentration can stimulate learning processes in a playful way.

The development of personal expression is strengthened. The studio offers the possibility to work with different, art-based materials.

The aim is to create a space that enriches the professional everyday life of the specialist staff and that of the children and young people. The focus is not on the finished work, but on the processuality. The artistic processes and the handling of the material enable sensual experiences and train perception.

The studio is located in the basement of the familea Kita Rebgasse and has two workrooms, including painting walls. The adjacent play basement of the daycare center can also be used during studio time and has also been an exhibition space.

What is created in the studio? E.g. paintings, drawings, small sculptures and sculptures, prints, postcards, stop-motion films, installative and performative works.

Created works can be stored in the studio in folders, these are labeled with the name of the respective institution. If necessary, the works can be taken away.

Every month there is a studio program. Come by, so you can get an impression of the joint work incl. studio atmosphere. We are always happy about your registrations.

The studio is led by Kirn Kellermann - educator, BA Expressive Arts in Social Transformation, MA Teaching Art and Design.
