A temporary home

Inpatient living

Locations

In the Lindenberg children's home and the decentralized residential groups for children and young people aged 5 to 18. A constant network of relationships and binding, stable framework conditions are made possible.

In the residential groups, we offer year-round care for children and adolescents by socio-educational professionals.

This includes group-oriented activities (leisure activities, group meetings, camps) as well as the discussion and needs-oriented support in overcoming individual challenges. Furthermore, the accompaniment and support with school goals or with the process of finding a profession is part of our tasks.

A reference person coordinates the cooperation with all parties involved in the support process and involves the children and adolescents in support planning.

Residential group Missionsstrasse

Missionsstrasse 39, 4055 Basel

Our residential group is located near the Spalentor, very centrally located and easily accessible. We are part of an apartment building and can share a garden and a terrace with the house community. This also gives us the opportunity to take a little time out directly on site, to get some fresh air, to play ping-pong or to have a cozy barbecue evening. The Kannenfeldpark and the Schützenmattpark are in the near vicinity. Whether with the public streetcar right outside the front door or our own bus, we are always mobile and have very short distances to schools, shopping, recreational facilities and medical care.

Our apartment is distributed over 3 floors. It is very cozy and modern furnished and with the single rooms, which may be individually designed, it offers a retreat and feel-good place at any time. In its own play and craft cellar, it has many opportunities to let off steam, to be creative, to play games or to gamble. For bookworms there is also a cozy reading corner. So we offer various possibilities for all interests.

Throughout the year, various camps, excursions and activities are planned and carried out together. Based on the age- and gender-specific interests and needs, we regularly check in the team that there are appropriate offers and projects that take place in smaller groups or with the entire group. For this purpose, we take up current topics that occupy the children and adolescents and that they encounter in their everyday lives. In this interaction, it is important to us to cultivate and live a trusting and appreciative relationship - in doing so, the kids are accompanied and supported by a diverse, warm and humorous team.

Oberwilerstrasse residential group

Oberwilerstrasse 82, 4054 Basel

Learning independence and assuming responsibility as well as respectful coexistence with other young people are part of the basis of everyday life at the youth residential group. With the focus on self-determination, the young people are supported flexibly in their development individually and future-oriented.
Our humorous and dynamic team responds individually to the concerns of young people and offers an honest and constructive discussion of their issues.

The youth living group Oberwilerstrasse, which is affectionately called "WG-Obi" by the residents, impresses with its versatility; whether sports, creative romping in the workshop and kitchen, or experiencing the special feeling of togetherness during group weekends and vacations together - everyone has the opportunity to get involved.

The impressive villa right next to the Basel Zoo in the immediate vicinity of the city center impresses with bright and large rooms, which give the listed building a family charm. The large sun terrace is used extensively by the group in summer for barbecues and table tennis games. One of the highlights of the beautiful house is the bright and spacious youth room with sports equipment and various games.

In the Oberwilerstrasse residential group, the young people also have the opportunity to practice their independence within the house in a beautiful separate attic apartment on the 3rd floor before moving into an independent apartment. In lively discussions, the young people are encouraged to recognize their own strengths and to use them adequately in living together. The sustainable team of the 'WG-Obi' offers active support in emotional crises through constant relationships. In ups and downs, in laughter and tears, the empathetic socio-pedagogical team accompanies the adolescents and young adults on their way to independence.

Hirzbrunnen residential group

Eugen Wullschleger-Strasse 18, 4058 Basel

The Hirzbrunnen residential group is located somewhat out of town in a family- and child-friendly neighborhood near the Badischer Bahnhof train station. In the immediate vicinity are the Eglisee swimming pool and the Lange Erlen. The large house and its grounds offer plenty of space for fun and exercise. The residential group is spread over several floors and offers additional space for joint activities with a play area, a recreation room in the basement and a small chill oasis in the garden shed. There is also space and material in the group's own workshop to do handicrafts and create new things. The large garden invites to linger and includes a playground with swings and sandbox for younger children, a trampoline and a ping-pong table for all ages. Behind the house there is also a soccer field and a basketball hoop to be active and a small pool to cool down on warm days. In the own garden there are also various fruits to pick yourself such as grapes, quinces or apples.

It is important to us to treat the children and young people with respect and openness. The cooperation is transparent and at eye level, so that a family atmosphere can be found in the residential group. We attach great importance to a high level of cooperation with the children/adolescents and their families of origin in order to ensure the ideal development of the children/adolescents. The children and adolescents have a say and should actively participate in shaping life in the residential group. We work actively with the children to further develop their self, social and practical life skills with the goal of them becoming critical and independent adults.

The Hirzbrunnen residential group is an independent group, but also offers inter-group camps where contacts can be made with children from the other residential groups.
