We were delighted to welcome Councillor Mustafa Atici, Head of the Department of Education of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, to one of our familea daycare centers. The personal visit provided space for an open and appreciative exchange - and above all for an in-depth insight into our daily work in the daycare centers.
A place of education and integration
Our daycare centers are not only places of care, but also make an important contribution to early childhood education and social integration. In direct discussions with our specialists, Mr Atici was able to get an idea of the topics that concern us as educational specialists and as an organization on a day-to-day basis - from the individual support of children to structural challenges in the educational landscape.
Vocational training as the key to quality and the future
Another focus of the exchange was on vocational training. At a time when there is a shortage of skilled workers, it is essential to train and promote qualified young people and keep them in the profession in the long term. This is the only way we can ensure that children, and especially children with special care needs, receive appropriate support.
Strong networks for common goals
familea is actively committed to close cooperation with cantonal specialist agencies in order to further develop the quality of early childhood education together. Mr. Atici's visit was an encouraging sign of how important this dialogue is - and how much potential lies in working together as partners.
A big thank you goes to the team on site, who made this visit possible and helped to organize it with great commitment, openness and expertise.
We would like to thank Councillor Mustafa Atici for his visit, the open discussion and his recognition of the work of our employees. It was a visit with a lasting impact - for us and for the further development of daycare centers in Basel.
